This is almost 5 standard deviations above the mean.

I think some people are glossing over how absurd this is lol

OP, the gap between Wemby and Capela is 6.7%. Who is at 8.4% BLK/DFA? In other words, the gap between Wemby and Capela is as wide as Capela and who? And where does that player rank?

Damn son where’d you find this

Surprised Mobley isn’t on this list, maybe he just defends a ton of shots

[–] grispindl@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

that's some prime r/toprightmessi material

That's what a dot outside the curve is called.

Who would’ve thought the 7’5 athletic 19 year old with a 20 foot wingspan would be the best defender in the league

[–] Expulsure@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Where would Claxton rank if he qualified?

[–] cheeseburgerpillow@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Honestly this should be expected. He’s the new superstar in the making and on top of his shot blocking ability and length, players are going to be taking more risky shots on him, they want to be the guy to give him a little “Welcome to the league” moment.

He’ll continue getting blocks through his skill and physical attributes, but it will surely go way down next season.

I keep thinking back to that pic of him blocking Wiggins shot in preseason looking like a fucking creepypasta cryptid with how long his limbs are

That slacker is letting almost 80% of the shots get past him!

So is the reason he only averages 2.6 blocks that he's not defending many shots?

[–] punching-bag9018@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Less shots are attempted vs the 7'4 god.

[–] XxShin3d0wnxX@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah he’s tall.

“[Player] is blocking 20% for the season” is a new thing I hadn’t considered before Wemby arrived.
