Based on point per possession, these guys are the top 5:

(Player, Poss, PPP)

  • Kristaps Porzingis, 2.1, 1.56
  • Jayson Tatum, 2.9, 1.29
  • Tobias Harris, 2.3, 1.21
  • Anthony Davis, 4.4, 1.20
  • Karl-Anthony Towns, 3.2, 1.18

https://www.nba.com/stats/players/playtype-post-up?CF=POSSGE2&dir=D&sort=PPP

Top 5 players with the most post-up possessions are:

  • Nikola Jokic, 6.8, 1.13
  • Joel Embiid, 6.1, 1.06
  • Bam Adebayo, 5.0, 0.93
  • Anthony Davis, 4.4, 1.20
  • Julius Randle, 3.5, 0.90

https://www.nba.com/stats/players/playtype-post-up?dir=D&sort=POSS

AD is the only one being in both lists. Bam and Randle looking not very efficient posting up, but they still do a lot. Jokic, as usual, has the most post-ups with very respectable efficiency, shooting 57.3% from the field.

Other notable and interesting names:

  • Devin Booker, 1.0, 1.56
  • SGA, 1.7, 1.37
  • Dario Saric 1.1, 1.29
  • DeMar DeRozan, 2.3, 1.14
  • Rudy Gobert, 1.4, 1.11
  • LeBron James, 1.8, 1.03
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo, 3.5, 0.82
  • Zion Williamson, 3.2, 0.83
  • Victor Wembanyama, 2.9, 0.89

The least efficient players with at least 1 possession per game:

  • Evan Mobley, 1.1, 0.52
  • Anthony Edwards, 1.1, 0.61
  • Nikola Vucevic, 2.9, 0.72 (WOW)
  • Jeremy Sochan, 1.2, 0.73
  • Isaiah Stewart, 1.2, 0.74

Odd to switch from a 2 possession minimum to 1. Almost seems intentional

I'm confused by your last list.

You seem to have skipped a bunch of guys who are worse than Wemby by your link...

Durant, Paolo, Wiggins, Luka, Grant, Sabonis, Ingram, Murray, Kawhi, AG, Scottie Barnes...

tobias harris is very efficient and valuable yall should regard him highly

[–] Affectionate_Year_14@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Does Lack of spacing has something to do with Mobley not being a efficient post up guy ?

[–] vilca908@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

And AD has the highest TS% in the nba with post ups

[–] n0th1ng10@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Said kp was Bostons second best player before the season, everything has supported this by a landslide.

[–] amr1115@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

booker gotta post up way more smh

[–] notafan1@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

KAT is mostly posting up when he's matched vs smaller players so some of his efficiency is a result of playing forward instead of center.

[–] v1rus1366@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I wish Tatum would go to the low post more. He still really wants to score with fancy dribble moves, which he's OK at, but they're also the reason his turnovers have been way up lately.

[–] JoJonesy@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

honestly think we could lean a little harder into KP in the post. not that we should run our whole offense through there, obviously, but it's a nice counter to have and i feel like we're leaving a little bit of food on the table there— he was at 3.4 post-ups per game last year and was still very efficient on them, even though the Wizards didn't have anywhere near the spacing we do

“AD can’t self create” idiots absolutely seething

[–] sM92Bpb@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

It's a shame he lost his jumper.

[–] Plies-@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I hand tracked Tatum's post fadeaways this season before the game vs the Bulls and he's shooting 55% on them lol. 21/38.

Doesn't include possessions where he was fouled either so that makes it even more efficient. Pretty nice for a difficult shot.

Post Tatum is here.

Tatum’s natural game has always been more Kobe-y, and I think him trying to have a James Harden shot diet was really limiting him the past couple years, especially when the 3 wasn’t falling.

This year he’s found that middle ground between efficient shots and his own style, and its looked so much more decisive and controlled. Plus he added size and clearly worked on some post moves. Bro finally remembered he’s 6’8 and can just shoot over everyone.

[–] Tatum-Better@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Didn't he grow an inch? Heard him say he's 6"9 now. Not the 6'10 story that was a joke from 2 years ago

[–] Logansam1986@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

AD does this while being a defensive anchor

[–] silverfang45@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Let's go dario, always good to see the antichrist doing well

[–] Js_On_My_Yeet@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago
