Hello fellow Calvin and Hobbes fans!

About this community and how I post the comic strip… The comics are posted in chronological order on the day (usually) they were released. Posting them to match the release date adds a bit of fun and nostalgia to match the experience of reading them in the newspaper for first time. Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips. It really sucked when I missed a day. Only years later, when I got the books was I able to catch up on the missed strips.

Calvin and Hobbes is a daily American comic strip created by cartoonist Bill Watterson that was syndicated from November 18, 1985, to December 31, 1995. Commonly cited as "the last great newspaper comic",[2][3][4] Calvin and Hobbes has enjoyed broad and enduring popularity, influence, and academic and philosophical interest… Read more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calvin_and_Hobbes

I love the detail of him not having written the name small enough to fit the space :-)

The transmogrifier is one of my favorite bits.

I feel like I always read it as transmorgifier though. Sounds more sci fi. I wonder if the r/g transposition was intentional by Watterson because it's Calvin writing it.

Transmogrification is a real word. I think part of the comedy is in Calvin knowing the word and using it correctly.

It's amazing what they do with corrugated cardboard these days

Idk why this comment is so funny to me. This is totally something I would have glossed over as a kid, but reading it now, the specificity of it just cracks me up! "Corrugated cardboard"

It's amazing how Watterson can give Calvin such emotional expression with just a few lines.

That's the duplicator, not the transmogrifier.

No you have to spin it 180° to make it the duplicator.

This is a great story to follow the raccoon saga.
