Hello everyone,

I’m Phil and I’m excited to be here.

Although I’m an electronic engineer, I’ve actually worked in other fields for the last 25 years. In my spare time I enjoy trying to fix retro tech, retro gaming and occasionally programming.

I hope to have many discussions with you all

Admin/owner over a medium sized mastodon instance, long time fediverse user. Living in Sweden and have been a Linux user since before I was able to get a mustache.

Compuverse came to my attention because my brother showed it to me, the domain name was the main reason I like it. :)

Hi!

I'm a pc enthusiast and like to follow and inform myself about news on computers and other tech related elements.

I've been interested since 2018, and I was trying to help other people and at the same time learning more since then.

I'm far from doing a job in the pc space (accountant), but it's mostly a hobby.

I also like gaming. Mostly story driven games and challenging like metroidvanias. Tho not too challenging because I don't have infinite time, and I'm not that good.

I hover have a hard time finding some communities.

Like pcmasterrace@lemmy.world.

If i search the community on from this instance, I cannot find it. However, if I go to another instance, not logged in, like https://sh.itjust.works, I can easily find the pc master race community.

Also I'm on android, and so downloaded jerbosa, can I search things in this app?

Hello everyone!
I've always been terrible at introducing myself, writing bios, and the like.

I'm from the US. Originally New York. (State, not the city) Now I live in New Mexico.

I'm 43. I've been a techie, more or less all my life. I can't speak much about my interests before I was 5 or so. I guess it's be about 38 years. I did find it became a lot less fun, when working on computers became a job. So now I'm an X-Ray tech.

When I was a kid we had CompuServe in our house, instead of AOL. So on that alone I was immediately drawn here. It's not my first Lemmy account. But based on the name, and it's most excellent theme –Great work Cameron– I expect this might be my permanent "home" Lemmy instance.

Greetings from Sweden! I'm a 23 year old Linux operations engineer interested in all things tech. I enjoy tinkering with computers and gaming, both new and retro. I collect stuff like old consoles and CRT screens. My modern gaming setup runs on Arch BTW.

I loathe the big corpos like Micro$oft and G👀gle, disappointed with the direction Reddit is heading. I try to use open-source alternatives whenever possible, so here I am. Hoping to meet like-minded nerds and have a place to waste precious time lurking.

As probably many, I’m a refugee from Reddit. I am an IT infrastructure Engineer, so I’m a bit of a jack of all trades, with a specialisation in Linux and a bit of full-stack development. Happy to be here, but bear with me as I learn about all this Lemmy stuff.

Hey!

I'm going to take a while to get used to 'Lemmy' but this seems pretty cool so far.

I've used reddit for 8 years and have built up quite a collection of subs that I'm interested in. Hopefully we can see the Lemmy-verse grow to include them all!

I'm from the UK and have grown up loving football, food and technology - including gaming!

At the moment, I've got a PS5, Xbox SX, Switch, PC and a SteamDeck! I've also got a few older consoles and love a good old GameBoy. I currently main Destiny 2, but only as a very casual player. Hell Let Loose has taken up some of my time, too, but what I'm really holding out for is Starfield later this year! We're only a few days away from the live event, too.

Looking forward to hanging out and figuring this whole Lemmy thing out.
