This resulted in a very awkward Thanksgiving. It was the first Thanksgiving after my daughter was born, and my wife (black), my daughter, and I (white) were visiting my also white family. My cousin decided (for some reason) decided to retell this scene while my wife and I were in the other room, and very loudly shouted the n-word.
