6 is good but I was mostly going with the core ones people know about.
Although if I expanded, I'd say Secret of Mana and Earthbound would top everything then 6.
You saying FF6 is not a core one that people know about makes me feel less bad about saying FF8 is in my bottom 2 of FF rankings, lol
I did not like 9 as a kid and have not really played it again since. What do you like about?
IX I think was just one of my all time favourite games in terms of aesthetic and story.
The characters themselves were really well done and I related to them all (especially Eiko also being a younger sister) and Freya is one of my favourite playable FF characters. I also think Kuja is amazing; both personality and appearance.
Most importantly, they have the correct Moogles. :)
Moguri mod improves it a lot too, if you have the PC version.

My ranking as well, though I haven't finished X yet. I wasn't a huge fan of OG FF7.
Hope you like X! I loved it (Yuna is my favourite!)
I did love 16 of the new ones and, although I didn't have a PS3 at the time, I recently played 13 and thought it was good too (not my fave but also I'm a hopeless sapphic and would follow Lightning anywhere)
I'll have to probably restart X at a later point. I just recently got and finished the FF7 Remake, which I enjoyed much more than OG FF7. But I enjoyed what I experienced of the characters from X, so am looking forward to going back (now that I know you don't have to interact with blitzball after it's introduction...)
