Home automation is the residential extension of building automation.

It is automation of the home, housework or household activity.

Home automation may include centralized control of lighting, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), appliances, security locks of gates and doors and other systems, to provide improved convenience, comfort, energy efficiency and security.

I have a larger (100+ points) older xcomfort installation at home and I am looking to replace it.

Likely going with a combination of z wave and WiFi devices, controlled by homey.

However, I have a problem with some devices in the basement where connectivity is poor. However, I have called ethernet there.

So my question is, are there good ways to connect an ethernet connected relay which are cost effective and is there such a thing?

The alternative I am considering is stretching a cable from where the relays are and into a better coverage zone.

Homeseer has what they call ZNet, additional hub like devices that connect back to the main controller, that address this issue well. The ZNet works with Homeseer and HomeAssistant, but I don't know if it works with others. Perhaps Homey has something similar?
