After going around and around with them for 4+ calls and realizing we were right there, I just walked over on my lunch break, got hired as their helpdesk, walked back, quit

What made you switch over? Better conditions? Or just that the job sounded more interesting?

100% not having to answer calls. and it was $3 more per hour. easy choice. (iirc minimum wage at the time was 4 something? 1994-5 so that was huge for me)
