Was this the right move?

Bey is a pretty solid young role player and it feels like Detroit coudlve committed to developing him but instead they sent him away

What was the purpose of this move? Seems kinda unnecessary

It was a bad trade and everyone knew it but its definitely not something that significantly impacts their roster or future. Bey is still just a role player
