If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. On top of the relatively easy mining, there's the relatively low volume of batteries to recycle. If you can't keep a plant running all day you have a capital cost you can't reduce as fast. That will also be less of a problem in the future.
