Hi all, I’m looking to purchase my first mechanical watch in the next couple of months and am seriously considering either the Hanhart 417 ES 42mm or Tudor Black Bay Chrono. I really love the reverse panda. The Hanhart is quite a bit cheaper than the Tudor but the Tudor has a few advantages such as 200m water resistance. Which would you choose?

The Hanhart is really nice, more old-fashioned, more restrained than the Tudor.

But - personal preference - I can't stand the choice of numerals. It feels ... comic sans-esque. Everything about the watch is Serious Bizness but then they plop those silly numbers down? Look at that 4. It kills the vibe for me.

If that doesn't bother you, then the relative savings are a big tick, especially since this is going to be your first mechanical watch!
