Rules:
- Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.
Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.
Example:
- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

Voting for the GOP is showing support in a very meaningful way with repurcussions. You're voting to put a party in power that has an active agenda opposed to your interests.
Your perspective is empowering a party with a transphobic agenda is better than a single trnasphobic voice that is part of a party platform that does not support their stance? One of those is a lot more likely to be able to enact harmful legislation a d you're directly responsible for any harm that candidate will cause.
Unless you're trans, I don't want to hear your perspective on this. I don't listen to entitled cis people who tell trans people how to think. We know our needs better than you do.
I helped my trans friends flee the midwest to the PNW because they weren't safe here, so I do have stakes and I am involved in constructive actions helping the community as opposed to supporting the opposition.
Using your trans status to ignore others is almost as short sided as your single issue voting support for the GOP.
Sorry. Allies and trans allies share some commonalities, but you will never feel this in your bones. Part of being an ally is not talking over those you claim to be allies with. When a trans person speaks on a trans issue, if an ally disagrees with that, it's best to keep your opinions to yourself.
This is one reason trans-dedicated spaces have to be very careful with how many allies they let into the space. If you're not careful, the actual trans people will be outnumbered by the allies, and actual trans people will have their voices shouted down when the opinions of trans folks and their supposed allies disagree.
There's a reason Native American tribes carefully control their member lists. If they're not careful, friendly and supportive white people who have an enthusiasm for Native culture will end up taking over the place.
I'm white myself, but I do have a great affinity for the struggles of our black brothers, sisters, and siblings. I consider myself an ally to the black community. But at the same time, I would never talk over a black person if they shared a perspective on the black experience that differed from my thoughts on it. Obviously they know these subjects better than I do.
They're the ones that decided to be trans-exclusive when their voting has harmful implications and results for both the group they're proclaiming support for as well as many others.
If they're voting for Nazis as part of a grand plan, they're voting for Nazis.
