Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

F7 key on 67% keyboard (lemdro.id)

SOLVED: i used the simulate input action on opendeck and set it to f7. yes i have a streamdeck

so i use a program where you need to press f7 and you cant change it, but i only have a 67% keyboard and the layout i have selected in my keyboard setting doesnt seem to have fn on any of my keys so pls help

EDIT: just so you guys know i have a streamdeck that i can use but idrk how to configure a button to be f7

Looks like that keyboard is VIA-compatible. So, you should be able to use VIA to remap the keys so the Fn keys are under a certain layer or something.

do i use the website or some program? the website isnt supported on firefox

Correct, Firefox is not supported. VIA requires WebHID, which is a web standard that Firefox does not support. You can install something like Ungoogled Chromium for this. I keep that browser installed just for tinkering with keyboards using VIA. For literally everything else, I use a Firefox fork.

its says that it "does not seem to respond like a VIA-enabled keyboard.". Is there any firmware i need to install or something?

Apparently some versions of that keyboard's PCB come with VIA compatibility, and some do require a firmware update or something. Unfortunately, this is not all well documented for this vendor.
