Too lazy to check stats, but by the eye-test he always makes those, and I always wonder why doesnt he take 20+ of those shots every game

because this isn't MJ's era anymore. The 3pt shot is much more valuable than the 2pt shot. Sadly.

He hasn’t been great at hitting the midrange historically. He’s working on it though and could be a real weapon for him over time.

It already is a weapon. He's shooting 44% on mid range this year. Not necessarily "efficient", but it's good enough to keep teams on their toes. It's a nice weapon to add to his 3pt shooting and insane skill in the paint.

yes, but the question was why doesn't he shoot 20 of those per game, and the answer to that, is that he's not that good at them to make those good shots
