If it's California it's still illegal.
And if it happened in CA, and CA wants to punish him, CA can make that choice. And if I was a juror in CA and the Prosecutor proved it, Id certainly vote to convict.
But I don’t have to have a moral issue with it just because there’s a law on the books. And I as a citizen would certainly want a Romeo and Juliet exception on the books for 19-17.
Does that make sense, I guess?
It doesn't need to be prosecuted. We already have precedent that the NBA can suspend a player who doesn't commit any crime.
Didn’t say it had to be prosecuted.
I don’t think for a second the NBA will want to suspend a 19 year old for relations with a 17 year old. Something which is legal in most of the country and that many of its players/staff/fans likely did while in high school or college.
Do you really think that 19-17 is rare in society? Or even particularly morally wrong?
That’s why the actual ages matter to me. This is either a nothingburger or a big fucking deal.
Hooking up with a minor is morally wrong.
And most the country doesn't care about legally owning a gun either. That didn't protect Ja.
Tell that to all high school seniors dating their boyfriend or girlfriend, where one turned 18 first.
Because I don’t think for a second you actually think Jenny (18) is morally bankrupt for having sex with her boyfriend Tommy (17).
Ja kept fucking around with guns in public.
And if it’s OKC the age of consent is 16 and it’s ok (legally speaking). Let’s just wait for more details.
It didn't occur in OKC
I haven’t seen anything about where it occurred
