How can I drink a about 6-8 shots of whiskey and remain somewhat functional but two beers fucks me up and puts me to sleep. (lemmy.world)

The whiskey puts alcohol relatively fast into your body, making that you don't feel drunk yet even though motor skills are probably lacking. With beer, the delivery is slower, making your mind slow before the motor skills give in. At least, that's how it works for me.
