Why do the Lions and cowboys always play on Thanksgiving? I get tradition but who cares. The schedule should be as random as possible, within the scheduling constraints.

It's a holdover from back when no one wanted to play on Thanksgiving and they offered to be the ones to do it if they always got a game.
