I am in Australia, and I can guarantee you that there are lobbyists in the capital every single day trying to have it stopped.

The US also wants it stopped.

In Australia. Our government's bargaining over the price of pharmaceuticals under the PBS has caused massive pressure by big US drug companies. A great many drugs have their prices capped in this country. Trump's boys have been jumping up and down threatening this and that for us to adopt a more lethal regime.

However, it was the same under Obama, so it's the US system at fault not just the present adminstration.

100% the liberal party loath it. John Howard had a crack at weakening it by pushing more people to private health cover with his levies.

The Liberals did privatise Medibank, which was the predecessor to Medicare. It took 13 years of successive Labor governments to make Medicare untouchable. If, god forbid, One Nation does get up we will end up in the right column.
