Home automation is the residential extension of building automation.

It is automation of the home, housework or household activity.

Home automation may include centralized control of lighting, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), appliances, security locks of gates and doors and other systems, to provide improved convenience, comfort, energy efficiency and security.

Agree with neither comment, but I have more accuracy with Google over Alexa. Alexa has a ton of “skills” that I feel complicate using and often trigger the wrong thing. For lights on, play music in this set of rooms, etc. — think Google is marginally better day to day

I can yell across the room and Google will get it correct 95% of the time, even with a TV playing and kids yelling. Alexa will often get it wrong in a small room with no background noise
