I just ended to spot an unfair comparaison in an article that at best can be interpreted as a mistake or at worse a desperate manœuvre to publish and claim good results. Nevertheless, what do you do in these situations ?

Pretty simple.

Email the corresponding or lead author. Be polite. It's possible the authors have considered angles that you haven't.
