So I work at a Victorian reenactment fair centered on the London of Charles Dickens. We have Dickens characters walking around the streets and interacting with each other and guests. I actually play Estella!

Almost every person who I’ve talked to at fair has seen the episode and LOVES it. It’s very accurate to the book (up until the robot monkeys of course) and is really funny.

I was surprised to learn that it’s so hated and makes the list of the worst South Park episodes consistently. It’s very quotable, Estella’s rapid fire insults are hilarious, her bunny genocide is great, and the characters are very good representations of their literary counterparts in a more accessible format.

Just thought you guys might appreciate the fact that such an unpopular episode is so widely loved in my circle of literary nerds! Even people who I don’t think would like South Park, including my director who is at least 50, love it.

We will have a gay old time, and I do mean gay as in happy and not as in penetration of the bum!
