Is this a thing? Low 80-130 USD range? Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Check out r/Chinesewatches. You'll find plenty of options in all sorts of styles from SteelDive, addiesdive, berny, cadisen, watchdives...

Depending on your region you might find some seiko subbrands like lorus or pulsar or alba that have automatic watches in that price range but the ones mentioned above will give you more for the same money.
