Hello, as the title states I'm hoping to start a studio space of sorts. I love editorial photoshoots and and modelling, photographing and planning shoots with certain themes and ideas is my specialty and I'm good at what I do.

I was encouraged to start a separate page for it and I considered it for the sske of improving my profile for university applications but I'm not entirely sure as to how to how I should go about it. I have my niche, logo, name and camera all ready and prepped to go but I'm unsure as to where I'm supposed to start.

Do I start it on Instagram or make a website? Should I just do the shoots with myself as I have this far or do I kickstart it by doing shoots with my friends instead and posting those.

My main dilemma is that shooting myself at home when I don't have a proper setup or lighting available is difficult. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Thank you!

Join a FB group for photography meetups. There are a lot of other people looking to build out portfolios, including models.

Network - events, meetups, groups, practice, other photographers, etc.

Figure out what your niche and target is. Then you could build a business geared towards that.

If you're in the visual space, which photography is, you also need a website because people will expect to look at your portfolio.

Build out social presence. I'd recommend starting small and focusing on a single channel and Instagram would make the most sense.
