Data Hoarder

We are digital librarians. Among us are represented the various reasons to keep data -- legal requirements, competitive requirements, uncertainty of permanence of cloud services, distaste for transmitting your data externally (e.g. government or corporate espionage), cultural and familial archivists, internet collapse preppers, and people who do it themselves so they're sure it's done right. Everyone has their reasons for curating the data they have decided to keep (either forever or For A Damn Long Time (tm) ). Along the way we have sought out like-minded individuals to exchange strategies, war stories, and cautionary tales of failures.

I bought this thunderbolt wnclosure one year ago and it worked. Today, I took it out of the box and put wd 750sn 1t nvme in. But it can’t be recognized both on win and Mac.

So the enclosure somehow is damaged? On windows, I can only see a tps65938 usb device is there, but no way I can see any storage.

Any idea?

It works on Macbook air, yes, I found the cable coming with the enclousure.

Another noobie questions: can my laptop and pc also use this enclosure? I tried on both, showing some alert like “thunderbolt devices function maybe limited” and no usb disk available.

How is the disk formatted? If it's one of Apple's file systems, yes won't be seen in Windows (the disk itself will be visible but no "D:" or anything).
