Do the teams in the knockout round play against each other an extra time this season than they normally would or do the knockout round games replace games they would play against each other later in the season?

IIRC they left some dates on the schedule open with unscheduled games so that after determining who would move on in the tournament, they could schedule the matchups on those days. I think it's Dec 3/4
