The Timberwolves now sit at 13-4, the current #1 seed in the Western Conference, almost 1/4 through the season.

Rudy Gobert defensive rating: 102.3 (#1 in the league)

KAT defensive rating: 104 (#2 in the league this year / averaged 109 historically)

Timberwolves: 106.6 (#1 in the league)

If they make the finals this year; are we still saying it was an overpay?

The only thing of value we gave up was the picks and if we remain a consistent playoff team who the fuck cares they’ll be mid to late rounders.

Pat Bev (signed a min contract) Beasley (signed a min contract) Bolmaro (out of the nba) Vando (signed close to mid level contract, absolutely terrible on offense, good defense) Kessler (white version of Hassan Whiteside, gets blocks but gets cooked on defense)

Considering we got a soon to be 4x dpoty giving away a bunch of dudes who were easy to get for minimum contracts on the open market as opposed to trading away someone like Lauri markannen for a dude who’s gonna leave that team asap, I think we did quite well.

I don't think it was a terrible trade but don't agree that we gave up basically nothing. We are doing great this year but some of the picks were 2027 and 2029, its hard to know what the team will look like then. Like KG to Brooklyn nobody thought those picks would have much value but they turned into Jaylen Brown and Tatum.

2029 is top 5 protected, so even worst case scenario wouldn't be catastrophic that year.
