Any of you managed to find a place that has living costs about $10-$15k or lower? I'm looking for a place where:

  • Preferably English speaking or easy to navigate for an English speaker
  • High-speed internet (and very very reliable electricity/networking services)
  • Vegetarian-friendly
  • Progressive society (places like Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, North Korea etc. would be out of question)

Within 2 years or so my financial situation would be much better but I just want to get out of the shithole I live in asap. Would love to hear suggestions from people who actually managed to find such place

$10K per month or week?

LOL, just kidding. You can live pretty good in the Philippines for about $1k per month as a single person. You have to leave the big cities. If you want cool weather, try Baguio. It's in the mountains and relatively cold all year around. You might even need a jacket during the winter time.

Philippines is easy because there isn't much of a language barrier. You can go anywhere and people will speak enough english.

A new motorbike will cost you about $2,000.

My rent is $150 a month. I spend $60 on electric because I run an AC all the time. My internet is 140 Mbps for $30 per month. Netflix. I'm spending about $1200 but I live with my girlfriend and take care of her. Her college tuition is $200 a month and fixing up her teeth is expensive.
