I’m surprised teams are so high on him, he has some dirt in his background, his size isn’t that spectacular, he didn’t dominate in ~~college~~ The G-League. How is he so highly regarded?

Guards often look like shit in their rookie seasons. Just as Trae Young and Darius Garland. He'll (probably) be fine.

Difference is that guys like Trae and Garland had already established good track records of being able to shoot pre draft

Scoot scooting 22% from 3 is arguably more concerning than someone like Trae shooting bad to start his career, since it actually lines up with his known flaws pre draft and there isn't a clear regression to the mean to reasonably anticipate
