What album puts a chill in your spine? What gives you fearful butterflies in your stomach upon each listen? When was it recorded? I find a lot of early electronic music to fit that uncanny region for me, but that may be everybody.

Sun Ra - Out Beyond the Kingdom Of

The whole album is fascinating strange, but the opening track Discipline 99 is one of the only songs that legitimately scares me. It's offers moments of fragile, almost painfully disarming beauty that is repeatedly interrupted by jarring, almost terrifying cacophony. It leaves me desperate for melody, worried about what the next note will be. The gentler moments are so gorgeous they make me want to cry, but the song leaves me in constant fear of dissonance.

Sun Ra recorded a few songs called "Discipline 99", and most are completely different from the recording on Out Beyond the Kingdom Of, but I found the one I'm talking about on YouTube: https://youtu.be/m-Qi2pCIt9Y?si=rkV-HCxfk9pZ4nfD
