“They say shelters are the number one resource for us to go, have you ever spent time in a shelter? It’s not the best option.”

Uh, how is that not the bigger issue? Why are people fighting to let them stay on the streets and not working to fix the locations they're expected to go?

That is absolutely the larger issue, but the solution to it is going to have to go through the legislative process whereas these guys' encampment was going to be destroyed now.

Shelters are full of predators and people with mental illness. You can't fix them without fixing larger social issues. It's once again a giant political football.
