And people wonder why I don't even bother answering my phone anymore.
Same. If I don't recognize the number it's a no-go.
My phone has a sim card meant for a tablet. It has no number that works. No calls, no SMS.
Just apps. Maps, chat, passwd/otp, and similar stuff. I finally got my mom trained to use Skype or messenger l, and Skype-in only in emergencies where she sees flames.
The fact that no one calls me is fantastic.
And people wonder why I dont have a phone number anymore
I sympathize. Circumstances mean that we actually do still need, not just a phone number, but a landline. We just hang up on those rare occasions when our call screening fails.
The trouble is that means policy is being set or supported based on the people who don't know enough about anything to even figure out how to manage their phones.
We're all doomed.
