Also, I have read about academic gatekeeping scams and how you can email the authors who are glad to CONSENSUALLY provide you with access to knowledge.

Most of the ones I know will thank you if you just find their work and don't add one more email to their already full mailbox ๐Ÿ˜Ž it's another culture.
