Dae think animation looks worse than original?
It’s not “worse”. Though it is different and does feel a little too clean.
But objectively in terms of the animation quality it is def not worse than the original. Go back and check out season 1 of the fox series. Wooo man they were on a budget and it showed.
I was talking to my wife about it. She likes how it is stylized to look like the original show, but personally I don't like how digital it still looks. They did a good job keeping true to the original style, and I know technology has advanced a lot, but something seems off not to me by using cels.
It seems to "clean" to me, but I might just be an animation nerd asking for too much
Is it because it's computer generated animation? That was the vibe I got, similar to a lot of the newer anime. It looks ok but something about it throws me off.
Yeah that's the main reason. I don't want to knock it too hard since they did a better job than I thought they would, but I'm a sucker for traditional (non digital/computer) animation. Story wise I love how they are picking up from the ending and not taking it a different route so far, and all the characters are acting like how they were in the OG series. Great reboot in a landscape of cheap cash ins
