Does pictrs cache just thumbnails or full size images from federated instances? (futurology.today)

We've noticed an increased amount of storage being used for images, and many of them appear to be full-sized images. Is this documented anywhere?

I pulled this PR into the version of lemmy I run on my instance and it looks promising.

It looks like that PR got closed because they are going to make it a configuration option.
