I think they meant being welcomed by lemmy as a whole.
At least that's the feeling i had, i also migrated during the API dilemma. Lemmings were really interacting with the new folks and explaining a lot.
Yeah, the existing admins, mods, and users were generally quite welcoming towards new users, even as the platform grew by an order of magnitude in just a few days.
Cool. I was just being cautious as there was a chance I’d spoken to them directly and forgotten their handle. Didn’t want to be rude and forget.
