A nice place to discuss rumors, happenings, innovations, and challenges in the technology sphere. We also welcome discussions on the intersections of technology and society. If it’s technological news or discussion of technology, it probably belongs here.

People will never run their own stuff - it requires some know-how regardless of what it is, and there are costs associated with it.
Still, people not running their own stuff doesn't bother me in the slightest, but most people will refuse to use things other than what they know even if there are alternatives available. People will come up with all sorts of arbitrary reasons but it comes down to familiarity and inertia.
The marketplace only works if you change to things that fit your needs better. And if you've decided that product X fits your needs best - don't complain forever about it. What's even more frustrating is if someone is complaining for the 10,000 time to you about whatever, but then sigh and act all "you're not being serious" when you say - have you tried a different thing? This is the one that fixed a lot of my complaints about X.
I honestly think a lot of people are just either self destructive or just like to complain, which is fine, but stop complaining to me about it.
