Dinosaurs probably didn't look like that and had feathers and fur rather than lizardlike scaly skin.

There were dinosaurs with fur, feathers, and scales. We have examples of dinosaur scales preserved in mud.

Fair enough, there might well have been some scaly dinosaurs, but they weren't all scaly the way the image suggests.
