Phone number
Oh okay
Kind of occured to me Gen Z prolly doesn't use phone numbers
Nah, we do text. Kinda country dependent actually. In the US, asking for insta or snap instead of phone number is fairly common. But text is also common.
In many countries (mainly south america, south asia, and SEA), whatsapp is most common, and that uses phone number as well.
East Asian countries each have their own thing that not many ppl elsewhere use.
Discord is common among more nerdy ppl.
next time I meet an attractive woman I'll ask for her Lemmy handle. Let's see how that goes.
Nah never, don't want them to check my entire account history
Yeah, just ask her for her instance and dump her if it's .ml.
Dodged a bullet there.
What if we exchanged public keys 😳😳😳
Actually Discord is getting very normie. Pretty much everybody at my uni uses it
They also did at my uni, but it was for group servers for classes, clubs, etc.
It's not really the first medium of communication when you meet someone.
I'm Italian and AFAIK everyone uses Whatsapp here.
I just met you, and this is crazy. But here's my socials, tweet me maybe???
Back to email then, the circle of life
As someone who lives in a country where we still regularly use fucking landline, it's amazing to me how far detached from this shit American Gen Z are
