I'm in the middle of a play-through right now.

Is this going to boot me? Can I block the game from being upgraded? Or is remastered a new SKU?

You can avoid the upgrade by not paying for it.

There's no way they're giving you an "upgrade" for free. Don't worry, as long as you don't pay for it, you're not getting the new version.
