The last part of the article was cut off. Here what it says, 2035: In most countries, messaging apps (including email clients) are considered "critical applications" that must undergo government approval before publication.

So like how news outlets repost AP articles. Gigazine links to the original blog post. That's better then most news outlets.

but it quickly devolves into baseless, referenceless speculation.

Gazoche's blog post and Gigazine article are open about that part is wildly speculative and hypothetical.
