For photography, isn't !photography@lemmy.ml quite active?

It is being boosted right now as it is in the current rotation for the lemmy.world (eew) community spotlight. Alongside with the famous !bicycle_touring@lemmy.world and also the !newcommunities@lemmy.world communities and others. (A link on top of the l.w landing page)

I meant more some promotion on !newcommunities@lemmy.world

And I know what the lemmy.world spotlight is, I'm in a chat with a few LW admins to discuss which communities could be featured there. It's a nice feature.
