Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

you’ve been on a Jill Stein kick

I'm not voting for Jill Stein.

[–] Sanctus@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You sure like tooting her horn regardless.

[–] UniversalMonk@lemmy.world -3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Because I've posted articles about her? I post articles about all third parties. I don't write them, I post them. I'm not "tooting her horn."

I just posted an article about the libertarian party today. Am I "tooting their horn"?

The vast majority of posts I make are about socialism, to the socialist communities (over 450 articles/comments). Feel free to look: https://lemmy.world/c/socialist

That's tooting a horn, friend. lol

I don't create the news, I read it and post it. If you don't like it, then feel free to move on.

The problem is when people point stuff out this is what you do. Its not what you post its how you react in the comments. More than half the stuff you post is very agreeable and good. Its mostly.these third party posts, where you try to say Jill Stein is good, and we say she isn't with receipts and then you knock everyone's toys down because we said we dont like her for understandable reasons.

But why point it out at all? My personal views don't really matter in the larger scheme of things. No one on Lemmy is going to read an article about a third party being on the ballot and go, "Holy shit! Fuck Harris. I've changed my mind! I'm voting third party!" That's just not going to happen.

ts mostly.these third party posts, where you try to say Jill Stein is good, and we say she isn’t with receipts

And this is the point YOU are missing. That's your opinion. Your opinion (and most on Lemmy) is that she isn't good. But lots of people think she IS good. She has never said she supports Putin. There is no proof she is paid by Putin. But that is what a lot of Lemmy people say and imply.

Because they don't like her. And that's fine. Guess what? I DO like her. It's just opinion, friend.

If I tried to change your opinion on Harris, and you didn't change your mind, would that mean you were suddenly a bad person?! Just because you didn't change your opinion in spite of any "evidence" I had? No, it just means you didn't change your convictions. Which is your choice. As it is mine.

That's not some vast agenda. My opinion of JIll Stein remains unchanged. If she was truly the criminal some make her out to be, it'd be front page news. And she'd be convicted. You don't the think the Democratic party has looked over every tiny details to find out fo she has done anything illegal?

Just because she does something YOU don't like, doesn't mean I have to agree with you. Besides I'm not voting for her, so relax.

YOU don't like her. I get it. YOU agree with the others that don't like her. I get it. But I don't agree. And I don't have to. That's diversity of opinion. Do you really want Lemmy to be some vast echo chamber like reddit?

Oh and just to make sure things get extra spicy? Guess what? I don't hate Russia either. And I'm not afraid of Trump. I'm still not voting for him tho. He's an idiot.

My choices. My opinions. They are not wrong just because they are different from yours (and most people on Lemmy. Ha!).

You are posting it on a public forum. Thats why. If you dont want your personal views criticized I guess dont post them publicly. I have agreed with you before, as I have said.

Fair point. But oy, getting called a Putin supporter or a Trump supporter just because I choose to like Jill Stein, is such a weird thing. I mean, if I were a Trump supporter, then I would just vote for Trump and post positive articles about him. It's not like Lemmy would hate me any more than they do now! lol

But you're right; comes with the territory!
