The heads of Canada's biggest grocers met in Ottawa on Monday after the Liberal government summoned them to come up with a plan to 'stabilize' food inflation.

The farm gate price already stabilized earlier this year. It's only a matter of waiting for older futures contracts to expire for the same to show up at the grocery store. There is always such a lag. Same reason we didn't see the price jump immediately when the farm gate price skyrocketed in 2021.

Everyone already knows that, Ottawa especially, so what's the point of this dog and pony show?
