Got a PS5 for my son, round about release time. I got my ps4 back.
Have been singularly unimpressed. I won’t be getting one.
They never EoL'd the PS4, if they wanted PS5 to be it's own thing...they shouldn't have shot themselves in the foot. As it stands PS5 is a moderately better PS4, and there's not any real reason to upgrade as there's still titles released for the PS4. The PS3/PS4 overlap was fairly similar to what we're seeing PS4/PS5...but the 4 was a clear and substantial upgrade to the 3. Sure we can talk about the pandemic and logistics/production disruption, but they announced it April '19, and released November '20, they could easily have stockpiled enough units in that time to prevent the rabid scalping situation. Idk, I know I'm ranting a bit, but it feels like Sony and M$ have just been phoning it in for their consoles. Like "we've got people who are going to buy it regardless of how much it costs and how little an improvement it is, so why should we try?"
