Let's say I'm interested in all kinds of Technology, but literally in nothing that is being published by www.theverge.com.

Is there a way to block all posts with links to that site?

Preferably on Firefox, as I don't use an app.

look up someone who could write a userscript that would satisfy ur need. As u are aware, such feature already exists On third party clients
