Summary:

Former Democratic congressman Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) called Elon Musk a “thief” and a “Nazi” during a fiery CNN segment Thursday night.

After Joe Borelli, the ex-Republican leader on the New York City Council, argued that much of the discontent at Republican congressmen’s town hall events were protests organized by Democrats, Bowman interrupted to insist that “that’s not true.”

“That’s not true. And this shows, again, the American people do not trust Elon Musk,” began Bowman. “And Elon Musk is incompetent in his position. And how do we know? Because they fired tens of thousands of people, it was challenged in court. The court said the people have to go back, and now the people are coming back. He’s incompetent, he’s a thief, he’s a Nazi, and people don’t trust him, period.”

Followup - Musk is threatening to sue

Used the Nazi label openly. Partly that it risks a lawsuit from Musk. But also that certain Dems have been trying to rehabilitate Nazis, since they support some, and party leadership now has a ‘not all Nazis’ kind of attitude.

he would have no case. his status and government position puts the bar a lot higher than if he were a random private citizen.

When you have that kind of money, your case doesn’t have to be winnable. The point is to tie up resources and time. And the lawsuit itself is the punishment- not the outcome.

Knowing Musk, I’d be shocked if he doesn’t do this to make an example of anyone who calls him a Nazi.

We should probably come up with a system where money doesn't mean more access to the legal system.

Maybe you're just not allowed to hire a lawyer directly, but you have to go through some magical entity that's not corrupt and they assign you people.

Or fuck it, just fix everything else so no one is super rich compared to everyone else.

Yeah, I think we need to seize all accumulated wealth above $100 million, set a max income of $10 million per year (with no borrowing to get over the cap), and set a max inheritance of $10 million per beneficiary.
