Takes time to quit an abusive relationship.

It's hard for the subreddits that barely have any traction as is. But it's entirely feasible for most of them. Is there a way on lemmy to have small communities new post always come up on the top of your feed?

Choosing "all/new" gets the job done.

And many Lemmy clients have more options with additional cleverness to get a feed with a mix of fresh and familiar.

It's worth pointing out (to communities thinking about moving) that there's nothing algorithmically suppressing new content here.

Getting (and staying) noticed is way easier, here.

First of all this isnt reddit so its not subreddits. We are communities here

And second: feed sorters exist

It's hard enough getting acclimated here and then someone comes along and asks an innocent question or looks for more information and it's all "fIrST oF AlL ThIs IsN't ReDdIt" like no shit, shut the fuck up and stop being the problem with this site that makes people leave.

How do feed sorters work? And before you say Google it, that brings up farm equipment.

Welcome!

Let's see, what useful welcomes advice can I share...?

  1. You'll find lots of Linux users here, but we're harmless.
  2. I'm not sure our interpretation of Star Trek's Gowron has any remaining relationship with the original character, but I guess he's one of our mascots, now.
  3. If one of us starts to go on about how federation works, it's okay to nod and back away slowly. Federation works just fine without understanding it.

I'm not anymore because of this.

Exactly. Just delete your account!

I no longer have an account, but I lurk in /r/wallstreetbets to read the comments now that the market is so fucked.
