"they knew some things and didn't know some things" isn't worth getting so worked up over. they knew the mere concept of sex being taboo negatively affected them and didn't want to make definitive statements about things they didn't research. believe it or not lemmy comments are not dissertations and most people just talk and don't bother researching every tangential topic just to make a point they want to make.
You're doing a lot of legwork to defend someone who fantasizes about and researches extensively children watching adults have sex, and then uses that research to justify the idea to other adults
are you basing this on other comments by the same person? because I saw none of that in the comment you cited and this is starting to sound like either projection or some sort of trauma-led bad faith interpretation to be generous.
