We are building a massive, visible, national rejection of this crisis—and today’s numbers are proof that the people—the majority—are taking action to stop a hostile government takeover.

Because let’s be clear: We do not have a functioning democracy anymore. Trump and his billionaire allies have dismantled our system of checks and balances, stacked the courts, silenced dissent, and declared themselves above the law.

They are disappearing people, attacking universities and the free press, and purging agencies meant to protect the people—from the environment to civil rights to public health.

This is not politics as usual. This is a hostile takeover by billionaires, corporations, and authoritarian enablers.

They are gutting the country for parts—and selling us out in the process.

They are not leaders. They are traitors to the people of this country.

So we are building a People’s Movement. And history shows that when just 3.5% of the population engages in sustained, peaceful resistance—transformative change is inevitable.

But we have to earn it. And we have to fight for it.

We may no longer have a functioning democracy—but we still have a chance to restore it. The window is closing though. And we are the ones who must rise to meet this moment.

So here’s what you can do: 📱 Use the 5 Calls app or Resist Bot to contact your elected officials—every single day.

🎤 Demand town halls. Show up at their public appearances.

🚫 Boycott the corporations funding this hostile takeover.

🗣️ Talk to your friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors. Don’t let them sleep through this moment.

📸 Share protest footage, updates, and facts on social media. Amplify the truth—because the billionaires are trying to drown it out.

📲 And follow us to stay connected, get updates, and join future actions.

We are not alone. We are not powerless. And we are not backing down.

Pretty sure the approval rate of Xi is an order of magnitude above that of Biden and higher than Trump's. In American "democracy", you get to choose who will enact genocide, welfare cuts, and mass imprisonment of "nonwhite" population.

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

When you are the only one whonis allowed to have a good approval rating, or be in power, that makes you a dictator

Xi is a dictator because all dissent and opposition is artificial or crushed

Sorry that you have a hard time processing reality

Real democracy is like in the EU, where for the past 30 years, you get to choose the colour of the party that applies neoliberal shock therapy and dismantling of the welfare state.

I'm Spanish. In my home country, a party rose against corruption in the name of the left wing, called "Podemos". You know what happened? The state apparatus manufactured false evidence of funding from Venezuela and Iran, leaked this false information to journalists, and private media started a yearlong campaign of smearing of the party using false information, if you want to look it up, search for "caso Pablo Iglesias Sociedad Anónima". They literally bought people from the Venezuelan opposition to create a false narrative that the party was corrupted by Venezuelan money.

So: don't you fucking dare tell me to my face that European democracies are democracies and Chinese government has no opposition. In Europe we literally had the "Gladio operation" in which lost leftist leaders were LITERALLY MURDERED by intelligence agencies.

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah it's pathetic that these are the things you have to tell yourself to accept a dictatorship

[–] AES_Enjoyer@reddthat.com 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

"Caring about Operation Gladio and the lack of democracy in your country means you love dictatorships". It's so obvious that you don't actually care about democracy, you're just a racist american/European supremacist who believes Chinese people are a hivemind that "are forced" to like their government

So then why do you instantly default to whataboutism if you don't like it?

Or you just don't like it when I do it?

Yeah keep making excuses to suck fascist cock

[–] AES_Enjoyer@reddthat.com 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm making legitimate criticism of my "democracy" when you bring up controlled opposition, to show you that calling my system a democracy as opposed to China is fucking ridiculous. You don't accept criticism of your system and you call it "whataboutism", when in reality we're discussing two different political systems because you're calling one of them authoritarian which is comparative to the other. You just can't answer with anything reasonable other than "Gyna bad" so you end the conversation with the thought terminating cliche of whataboutism.

So when does somebody besides Xi take power, whats the date when his term ends and he steps down?

People who claim power for life are dictators. It shouldn't be hard to aknowledge that but the psychological control China has over its shills is terrifying.

[–] AES_Enjoyer@reddthat.com 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The only measure for democracy is being able to choose which of the two billionaire-approved candidates with functionally identical policy against the working class on the other hand.

whats the date when his term ends and he steps down?

Aren't people concerned with Trump doing this and quite literally just waving hands about it?

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

You're right, not having any choice and accepting a life as a slave is way better!

Lmao you are the one here who wants no rights slave, what a pathetic way to live, to have to contort your mind to accept slavery instead of understanding it's wrong.

[–] AES_Enjoyer@reddthat.com 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Chinese people are well on the way to have more rights than we do. While the EU elects far right leaders (courtesy of the oligarchic antidemocratic media conglomerate) and the US literally elects a Sieg-Heil Nazi (courtesy of the same media), China just passed serious legislation on regulating and protecting citizens from facial recognition.

Calling Chinese people slaves is extremely racist BTW

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I don't care how racist you are lol

If you willingly accept a dictatorship then you are a slave

s l a v e

By definition

Go move to China if you aren't just pretending to be American, I'm sure once you figure out the reason everyone is so "happy" (implied threat of dissapearing at all times) you will have such low social credit you won't be allowed to leave the country again.

[–] AES_Enjoyer@reddthat.com 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Straight from the state department propaganda, with the "threat of disappearing" and the "social score". My man, you open your bank app and it will tell you how worthy of a citizen you are with your credit score, the "social credit" is just anti-china propaganda that dumbasses like you will uncritically swallow whole.

I'm not USian BTW, I'm European. Good luck in your current democracy, the one with concentration camps for immigrants, the one beating university students for protesting, and the one murdering black innocents en-masse for daring to talk to a cop.

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

So when does the CCP plan on apologizing for killing those student protesters with those tanks? Lmao they won't even admit it happened.

That's not s government that should hold power.

[–] AES_Enjoyer@reddthat.com 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

So when does the CCP plan on apologizing for killing those student protesters with those tanks?

Thats... Not what happened in Tiananmen square protests. People protested in the square for weeks, the army didn't intervene until the protestors literally armed themselves and murdered some policemen. The clashes happened as a consequence of radical pro-liberalism students (many in organisations funded by the USA) starting to murder people.

When did the US government apologise for bombing black neighbourhoods in the MOVE bombings btw?

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah this complete denial of atrocities is why people don't want the 1984 government to have world domination.

Thanks for being the example

[–] AES_Enjoyer@reddthat.com 1 points 1 week ago

"My understanding, as an American/European, of the Tiananmen events, is not at all influenced by western anticommunist and anti-chinese propaganda. Anyone who defends something different than the official US State Department version is literally 1984."
