I wish that has worked over the last decade. It didn't. We need a governing body to stand up and represent us. That's what they're for.
And yes I know it won't be exactly as written. Read the darn thing
That's what EU is for (in Europe), but honestly, even as an avid gamer, there are other priorities, even in the IT/digital department (european alternatives, open source, research, ...), so as of now I keep voting with my wallet
I'm doing both. Dividing people isn't going help
It's worked for me, these games don't die in my eyes because they don't exist.
Sticking your head in the sand is a comfort, I suppose
